Handsome Early Portable

In its time the Model #1 was considered one of the finest portable typewriters ever built.

It looks newer than its actual age! With a full complement of 42 keys, a ribbon color selector, two backspace keys, a margin release and a tab key with two adjustable tabs, this fully functional typewriter included nearly everything the typist of its day could wish for.

The marketing target was teachers, writers and business people who did a lot of writing.

Its glossy frame, high-quality parts and assembly contributed to its good reputation.

A couple drawbacks hindering the full functionality of this machine include its missing small spring that engages the spacebar, the fact that its 2-color ribbon is missing and some aging rubber rollers are dried and cracked.

The original case is included with this machine.
